    SIM Boston SIM Silver Meeting

    In 1977, John Dacey and Dick Harris, two IT practitioners, met and discussed the formation of Boston SIM Chapter and the rest is history! John has had a long career in information technology having owned three IT consulting companies. Since the mid-90s he has focused on philanthropy and Angel investing in a variety of start-ups. On Tuesday, April 9th, SIM Silver will have the good fortune to have John Dacey, Boston SIM Chairman Emeritus, speak to us. John will tell us a little about what happened in those early years of Boston SIM, as well as discussing what technologies investors are putting money into these days, the process entrepreneurs follow to get funded, and the possibilities for CIOs to join the ranks of Angel investors. Come join us on Tuesday, April 9th at what could be a great meeting followed by dinner at Pappa Razzi.

    SIM Boston Presents the Michael P. Brooks Memorial Golf Outing – our 18th Annual event Whether you are new to golf, interested in learning more, or a seasoned pro, this is a great day to join and network with your SIM Boston colleagues! Supporting Chapter Community Outreach Programs The annual SIM Boston Golf Outing is a great day of fun and networking. Held at the beautiful Cyprian Keyes Golf Course in Boylston, Massachusetts, this is an event you won’t want to miss! Plus, you don’t need to hold a PGA pass to participate, so please plan to join us. BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND: SIM Boston members can choose to either play in an 18-hole golf outing or spend a half-day attending the SIM Boston Golf School (9-hole outing and instruction) and staying for dinner and the ceremony with everyone afterwards. Golf School participants will receive a one-hour lesson from a PGA Professional before playing nine holes of golf on the par 3, Executive Golf Course. Cyprian Keyes Golf Club staff will be present on the Executive Course to provide follow-up instruction. If you are interested in attending our Golf School, please register early as there are only 36 openings. If you do not own a set of golf clubs, there will be twelve sets of complimentary clubs available for you to use. The 18-hole and 9-hole outings should finish around the same time so the players may all enjoy dinner and the reception together. If you would like to attend just the dinner and reception and forgo golf altogether, there is that option too – for members only. We encourage all SIM Boston members to participate in this year’s event, whichever way works best for you, and look forward to seeing you on the green in mid-June!
