Honoring the Legacy of Michael P. Brooks
Michael P. Brooks was more than a leader—he was the heartbeat of SIM Boston. A dedicated past president, membership chair, and mentor, Michael played a pivotal role in shaping the chapter’s culture and community. His tireless efforts grew membership to over 500, strengthened SIM Boston’s influence, and fostered an environment of warmth, inclusivity, and connection.
Known for his humble yet impactful leadership, Michael built relationships effortlessly, always welcoming new members with a smile. He was a connector, a visionary, and a friend to many—someone who quietly but powerfully made a difference. His influence extended beyond Boston, helping to shape national SIM events, including co-chairing the 2013 SIMposium. After his sudden passing from cancer, the SIM Boston community unanimously decided to rename the annual golf outing in his honor—a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much and asked for little in return.
Michael’s legacy lives on in the relationships he built, the leaders he mentored, and the community he helped create. He was, and always will be, "Mr. SIM."
