Supporting Chapter Community Outreach Programs

The annual SIM Boston Golf Outing is a great day of fun and networking. Held at the beautiful Cyprian Keyes Golf Course in Boylston, Massachusetts, this is an event you won’t want to miss!  Plus, you don’t need to hold a PGA pass to participate, so please plan to join us.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND:  SIM Boston members can choose to either play in an 18-hole golf outing or spend a half-day attending the SIM Boston Golf School (9-hole outing and instruction) and staying for dinner and the ceremony with everyone afterwards. Golf School participants will receive a one-hour lesson from a PGA Professional before playing nine holes of golf on the par 3, Executive Golf Course. Cyprian Keyes Golf Club staff will be present on the Executive Course to provide follow-up instruction. If you are interested in attending our Golf School, please register early as there are only 36 openings. If you do not own a set of golf clubs, there will be twelve sets of complimentary clubs available for you to use. The 18-hole and 9-hole outings should finish around the same time so the players may all enjoy dinner and the reception together. If you would like to attend just the dinner and reception and forgo golf altogether, there is that option too – for members only. We encourage all SIM Boston members to participate in this year’s event, whichever way works best for you, and look forward to seeing you on the green in September!

THE 18-HOLE GOLF OUTING $100

THE GOLF SCHOOL & 9-HOLE GOLF OUTING:
9-Hole Golf School with one-hour lesson from a PGA Pro $100

Frequently Asked Questions for 2020

Where can I find hand sanitizer?

Hand sanitizer is available in every cart and also at each tee box, the starter shack, golf shop, and snack shack.  The logistics team will also have extra bottles available to distribute as needed.

Is water available on the course?

Yes, there will be a staffed cart that travels the course throughout the day with bottled water available to golfers.  Water fountains are closed due to COVID.

How will registration be handled?

SIM Boston's Golf Outing Committee has partnered with the Cyprian Keyes Golf Club to collectively make our annual Golf Outing Event as safe as possible during this COVID-19 pandemic.  We are exploring every opportunity where we can provide you with a safe and fun day of golf and networking while maintaining social distancing and contactless interactions.

When you first arrive at Cyprian Keyes on September 16th, you will be welcomed by a member of the Logistics Team who will check your temperature with a contactless temporal artery thermometer.  You will be instructed to remain in your car and proceed to the new Drive-Thru Registration Table.  Once we have checked off your name, and handed you a gift bag, you will be asked to drive up to the golf bag drop-off area where Cyprian Keyes Stafff will bring your golf bag to your golf cart.  If you have opted to walk the course and use your own pull cart, you will be directed where to park.

Will carts be available?

At this point we are guaranteed 80 carts.  We are looking into obtaining more carts for the day and will provide an update when we have it.

Is walking the course an option?

Cyprian Keyes has about 8 pull carts available if people prefer to walk.  You also have the option of bringing your own pull cart and using that.  We need to know in advance if you are planning to walk so that we can ensure that your starting hole is close to the clubhouse.  Please indicate at registration whether you plan to walk the course and whether you require a pull cart or will bring your own.

An additional option is to walk the course and have a cart in your foursome shuttle your clubs for you.

Will lunch be provided?

Boxed lunches will still be provided, but not in the Ballroom in the Clubhouse this year.  Rather, we are looking at either having an outdoor pick-up location or serving you boxed lunches on the golf course.

Can I remove the flag sticks at holes?

No.  Due to regulations, you must not touch the flagsticks.

Are bunker rakes available?

Under the current guidelines, bunker rakes are not allowed.

Do I have to wear a mask while golfing?

In accordance with the state's current guidelines, everyone at the event must wear a face mask when not on the golf course.  One of the items in your gift bag will be a SIM Boston-branded face mask that you will be asked to keep with you and wear at the event when you are not golfing or eating.

What bathrooms are available?

The bathrooms on the course and in the clubhouse are available.  These facilities are cleaned throughout the day.

What will dinner look like?

We are currently working out the details of dinner to ensure we are compliant with all state guidelines.  We will provide an update as soon as we have it.

How do I purchase raffle tickets?

We will hold a raffle this year.  We are currently working out details as to how we will do this safely.  Check back for updates!
