    SIM Boston Providence Practitioners Roundtable

    Tuesday, December 10, 2019, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM ET
This past June, we had a terrific event that was a combination of networking and open topic discussion over refreshments and food. For Dec. 10, we’re planning to do it again. Our primary discussion will be: Best Practices for Forming and Maintaining an IT Steering Committee For years, IT Professionals have been working on earning a “seat at the business table”. But what about the other side; giving other department leaders a “seat at the technology table”. IT Steering committees are not only essential for good Governance, but they build that trust relationship that moves the organization forward. So, how do you best build an IT Steering Committee. And, once in place, how do you keep it fresh, on-track and engaged. Bring your best practices, thoughts, and experiences and share them with your peers. Take advantage of this opportunity to discuss, share and learn. Other topics for discussion are welcome. We hope to see you there! Phil Carlucci and Robert Johnson

Keeping All the Balls in the Air (How to Cope with Constant Change... & Still Stay Sane!) featuring Rob Peck, Founder and C.E.A. (Creative Education Advocate) of Zestworks Speaking & Training As the pace of change accelerates, leaders and teams clearly need to juggle more multiple responsibilities than ever. What isn’t so clear is how to keep pace without feeling constantly overworked and chronically under-slept. (Jugglers aren’t the only ones tossing in their sleep!) With humor and heart Rob shares true stories of how to keep the right balls in the air, and have less distress, and more success. Based on his book- It's A Juggle Out There (A Guide to a Better Balanced & More Fulfilling Life) his keynote integrates stress reduction tools and mindfulness techniques. Throughout, Rob illustrates how to synthesize IQ and EQ (Emotional Intelligence) and create a daily practice of ‘Kind Management’ that revitalizes our powers of concentration, motivates positive mind-sets, and leaves attendees energized, encouraged, and uplifted. Rob Peck is an author, humorist and recovering perfectionist! True to the title of his new book- IT’S A JUGGLE OUT THERE, Rob’s moving speeches and uplifting seminars combine comedy and content with 'outside the briefcase' ideas to have less stress and more zest. Rob's guiding principle is that high spirits mean low attrition, and when workplace morale goes up, energized job performance fuels organizational growth. Rob Peck is a long time member of the National Speakers Association, who has appeared on CBS, NBC, CNBC and was a featured presenter at Harvard University and the Smithsonian Institute. He is the recipient of numerous public speaking awards, and three time winner of Toastmaster International’s humorous speech contest. From Harvard to Hewlett Packard, Rob’s expertise in “juggling” has helped thousands of multi-tasking professionals reduce burnout, regain a better life balance, and combine a sense of purpose… with a spirit of fun!
